Engineered to protect offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, retail units and industrial premises, our commercial fire doors hold back fire and smoke to give occupants time to evacuate and to limit damage. As a UK manufacturer rather than a reseller, QDoors offers more than 750 fire-rated doors, plus frames and doorsets, at factory-direct prices, available in FD30 and FD60 ratings and a wide choice of laminate, veneer and glazed finishes. Every door can be ordered as a ready-made doorset for faster, fully compliant installation.
Certified fire protection for commercial buildings
In a fire, a commercial fire door keeps flames and toxic smoke contained within a compartment, protecting escape routes and buying vital time for evacuation and the fire service. Because we manufacture in-house, we control quality at every stage and pass on competitive pricing, reliable stock and short lead times that resellers cannot match. Whether you are fitting out a single unit or specifying for a large new-build, our team can help you choose the right rating, finish and ironmongery for your project.
Our commercial fire door range
With hundreds of doors in stock, you can match your interior's look without compromising on safety. Choose from:
Laminate fire doors. Hard-wearing, easy to clean and ideal for high-traffic commercial environments, our laminate fire doors are available in Formica, Polyrey and Egger finishes, from clean whites and greys to realistic woodgrains. A practical choice for schools, hospitals, offices and retail.
Veneer fire doors. For a premium real-wood appearance, our veneer fire doors come in Oak, Walnut, Ash, Beech and Sapele. Perfect for receptions, boardrooms, hotels and client-facing spaces where finish matters.
Glazed fire doors. Let light into corridors and stairwells while maintaining fire integrity. Our glazed commercial fire doors are available in a range of vision panel apertures, including 3G, 7G, 8G, 16G, 18G and 20G styles, so you can control how much light and visibility each door provides.
Commercial fire doors and frames (doorsets)
For a fully matched, certified system, order your door as a complete doorset: door leaf, fire-rated frame, intumescent and smoke seals and ironmongery supplied together. This removes the risk of mismatched components compromising the fire rating and speeds up on-site installation. Doors are available in 44mm and 54mm leaf thicknesses across a full range of standard metric and imperial sizes, with bespoke options on request.
FD30 vs FD60, which fire rating do you need?
Commercial fire doors are rated by how long they resist fire. An FD30 door provides 30 minutes of fire resistance and is the most common rating for internal commercial use. An FD60 door provides 60 minutes of protection and is specified for higher-risk areas, taller buildings and certain compartment walls. The correct rating for your premises should be confirmed by your fire risk assessment. If you are unsure, our team is happy to advise.
Where are fire doors required in commercial buildings in the UK?
In UK commercial buildings, fire doors are required wherever the building is divided into fire compartments or where escape routes must be protected. Typical locations include:
- Protected stairwells and escape corridors
- Doors opening onto escape routes
- Walls separating different fire compartments or occupancies
- Higher-risk rooms such as plant rooms, boiler rooms and electrical risers
- Storage cupboards and kitchens
These requirements are set out in Building Regulations Approved Document B, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022. As a general guide, most non-domestic buildings with employees require fire doors. The exact locations for your building should always be confirmed by a fire risk assessment or your building's responsible person.
Certified and fully compliant
Fire safety leaves no room for compromise, which is why our commercial fire doors are tested and certified for fire performance. All doors are supplied with the documentation you need to demonstrate compliance to building control and fire inspectors, and we hold IFC fire door certification.
