The Flamebreak 430 44mm U/L (Unlipped) Plywood Door Core Blank is an industry-standard, lightweight, FD30-rated fire door blank.
It features a tri-laminated hardwood core and 4mm hardwood plywood faces, providing 30 minutes of fire resistance while weighing significantly less than standard solid core blanks (approx. 30–40kg depending on size).
If you are manufacturing or installing fire doors using these blanks, the regulations require to add hardwood lippings to the vertical edges (and sometimes all four edges) of the blank before it is hung to maintain certification and stability.
The blank is primarily used for custom or oversized interior and exterior fire doors.
Unlipped door core allows joiners and manufacturers to trim and cut the blank to custom, non-standard dimensions.

Key Specifications:

  • Core Material: Solid tri-laminated lightweight hardwood
  • Face: 4mm hardwood plywood (suitable for painting or veneering)
  • Fire Rating: FD30 (30 minutes)
  • Thickness: 44mm
  • Sound Insulation: Up to Rw. 34 dB
  • 44mm FD30 fire door blank providing up to 30 minutes fire resistance
  • Flamebreak engineered core.

Typical Applications:

  • Suitable for bespoke fire door manufacture and machining within certified limits
  • Compatible with approved fire-rated glazing systems, intumescent seals and fire door ironmongery, subject to certification
  • Ideal for commercial, residential, healthcare, education and public sector applications requiring certified FD30 fire protection.
