The Flamebreak 660 Unlipped 54 mm Plywood Door Core Blank is a high-performance, lightweight FD60 fire door blank. It provides 60 minutes of fire resistance and is engineered with 6mm hardwood plywood faces bonded to a 3-layer solid hardwood lumber core, making it ideal for robust commercial and residential applications. The unlipped design allows manufacturers to fit compatible timber lippings appropriate to the intended application, offering greater flexibility during fabrication while complying with the relevant fire test evidence and certification.

Key Specifications & Features:

  • Fire Rating: FD60 (up to 60 minutes of fire protection per BS 476-22).
  • Core Construction: 3-layer solid timber core with hardwood framing and 6mm thick exterior-grade plywood faces.
  • Acoustic Performance: Sound insulation up to 36 dB in various configurations.
  • Edging: Supplied unlipped, requiring the installer/joiner to apply hardwood lippings to meet fire door compliance and certification standards.

Typical Applications

  • Suitable for bespoke fire door manufacture and machining within certified limits
  • Compatible with approved timber lippings, fire-rated glazing systems, intumescent seals and fire door ironmongery, subject to certification
